How US Masters odds work
You'll find that US Masters betting is very similar to betting on any other major golf tournament. Of course, it's very important that bettors get to grips with how US Masters golf odds work first before placing any bets.
Let's take a look at an example:
For the 2022 Masters tournament, Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, was the clear favourite, demonstrated by his lower odds. If you staked C$100 on him to win, your total payout would have been C$900.
This is pretty easy to figure out. To calculate the total payout, simply multiply the odds for the player you're betting on by the amount you want to wager (9.00 x 100 = 900). Now we know the total payout is C$900, you can work out the profit by subtracting your bet (C$100) from the total payout (C$900), leaving you with C$800.
This example uses the decimal odds format (the most common in Canada), but you'll also find examples of moneyline (also known as American) and fractional odds, online. Have a play around with our odds calculator to see the different formats and work out what you could win.
Popular US Masters bets
We've rounded up some of the most typical betting options for the Masters tournament, from tournament matchups to live betting.
Tournament matchups
A very popular bet, this is when two golfers are pitted against each other and the player you bet on simply has to have a better final score than the other player in order for you to win.
You'll find that the odds selection for this type of bet tends to be even money (you'll win or lose the same amount of money whichever player you pick). So, in this example between Spieth and Thomas, if you bet C$10 on Spieth and he ended up with a better score than Thomas, you would win the wager and your return would be C$110.
Prop bets
A prop bet is a wager on something other than the final outcome of a game or tournament. When it comes to US Masters prop bets, you'll find many options available to you, such as betting on how many players will finish under par; whether there'll be a hole-in-one; who will be the low Englishman, or who will be the top debutant.
Futures bets
A futures bet is for an event happening in the future, as opposed to on the day the wager is placed. If you look at US Masters pre-tournament odds for 2022, you'll see that they vary between sportsbooks, but in terms of the current favourite overall, it is Jon Rahm, who at the moment sits at 9.00 betting odds according to Oddschecker.
Live betting
As well as being able to place bets on sporting events happening in the future, you can also wager on events happening in live time. Sportsbooks will offer odds on the US Masters while it's in-play and will adjust the prices accordingly as the action unfolds.
It's become one of the most popular betting markets as it enables bettors to find edges while the tournament is underway.
Betting on your mobile
You don't need a computer to take advantage of online gambling. Today, US Masters golf betting is available on any mobile device.
You'll find some sportsbooks offer dedicated apps, but it's also easy to make real money deposits and bets straight from your device. Just visit any of our top-rated sportsbooks from your iOS or Android device to get started.
